Why do we need to enhance our knowledge in parenting?

We have become a knowledge-based society, and there are ';experts'; in almost area. There are more evidence-based practices that demonstrate long term effects (good and bad) of certain parenting principles. Of course, there will always be exceptions to the rule - but use of expertise as a guide through internet and other avenues is most helpful. Our ultimate objective is to raise healthy happy and well-adjusted children no matter what life throws at them, and knowledge helps us help them.
